ESSENTIAL #17 Justification By Faith Alone

Romans 3

For all the Athenians and the foreigners who were there spent their time in nothing else but either to tell or to hear some new thing. Then Paul stood in the midst of the Areopagus and said, “Men of Athens, I perceive that in all things you are very religious; for as I was passing through and considering the objects of your worship, I even found an altar with this inscription: 'TO THE UNKNOWN GOD.'" Then he went on to tell them about Jesus and the resurrection.

It's in our hard drive to seek after every thing but the True and only God. As it is written in Romans 3:
“There is none righteous, no, not one; 11There is none who understands; There is none who seeks after God. 12They have all turned aside; They have together become unprofitable; There is none who does good, no, not one. 13Theirthroat is an open tomb; With their tongues they have practiced deceit.”
We can not earn our way into heaven, we can not through the flesh please God. It's just not in us. It's only by His Marvelous Grace that we are Justified and made Righteous by what He did for us on the Cross.

The book of Ephesians says it so clearly: "for by grace you have been saved through faith; and that not of yourselves; it is the gift of God; not as a result of works, so that no one may boast."
